I voted for President George W. Bush in 2000 and in 2004. I think I made the right choice at the time. I do not agree with his policies all of the time and he has disappointed me on occasion, however, given what we faced on September 11, 2001, I think he was the man for the job. That being said, I give respect to whoever holds the office because He/She was elected to the position and I respect the office.
On Jan. 20,2009 Barack Obama will become our new President. In his first interview since winning the presidential election, Barack Obama told '60 Minutes' Steve Kroft., he wants to act quickly once he takes office to repair the ailing economy. Among his priorities: helping to keep homeowners out of foreclosure, and reaching an agreement on a relief package that would save the auto industry from collapse.
Obama told '60 Minutes' "The challenges we're confronting are enormous,"
One of those challenges -- a proposal to bail out the auto industry -- has been all over the headlines in recent days. In the first face-to-face meeting on Nov. 11, 2008 between Bush and Obama since his election victory President-elect Obama suggested to President Bush that the administration immediately help struggling U.S. automakers. Obama said he hoped the Bush administration would "do everything it can to accelerate the retooling assistance that Congress has already enacted." He also said that helping the auto industry was a high priority for his transition team.
We have the “Big Bank Bail Out” and we are looking at a “Big Three Bail Out” for the automakers, so I ask you how many more mismanaged companies can your budget afford to bail out? Please remember that the Government is US, that’s YOU AND ME.
No mater who is in office, we all have to face the “Challenges Before US” like “Can I aford my medicne? Or Can I aford enough Gas to get to work? Or Can I put food on the table?
I hope that President-elect Obama is as effective in problem solving as he is charming and that at the end of the day we can still feed our families.
If you agree, disagree or just want to sound off, Please leave a comment and let the world hear your thoughts. After all, “IT’S STILL THE AMERICAN WAY”.
